The cost of the UK's Electronic Travel Authorisation rose from £16 to £20 on 8 April 2026. Visa-exempt visitors, including travelers from the US, EU and many other countries, must hold an approved ETA before flying to the UK; it is applied for through the official app, links to the passport and stays valid for two years or until the passport expires. Approval is usually issued within three working days.
