A new US$250 charge will sit on top of existing US nonimmigrant visa fees, collected when the visa is issued.

Created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in July 2025, the Visa Integrity Fee adds at least US$250 to most US nonimmigrant visas — visitor, student, work and exchange categories — payable at issuance rather than at application. Visa Waiver Program (ESTA) travelers and immigrant-visa applicants are exempt, and the amount rises with inflation each year. It is refundable only for travelers who fully comply with their visa terms, and as of 2026 collection had not formally begun while agencies finalize the rules.
