Bangladesh passport holders: Single entry for Hungary. Fee: EUR 90 (~USD 104.06). Processing: Approx. 10-15 working days via the Swiss Embassy Dhaka for C visas (consistent with the standard 15-calendar-day Schengen rule); D-visa 6-12 weeks via VFS/Hungarian Embassy New Delhi. Indicative only — always verify with the official mission before applying.
Overview
MAJOR CORRECTION: since 15 August 2022, the Embassy of Switzerland in Dhaka represents Hungary and processes Hungary's short-stay Schengen (C) visas for Bangladeshi residents -- confirmed identically by Hungary's own New Delhi/Dhaka consular page ('The Embassy of Switzerland is representing Hungary for Bangladeshi residents with regard to Schengen Visas') and Switzerland's official EDA Bangladesh page ('the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh represents the Republic of Hungary...and processes Schengen visas with the main stay in Hungary'), plus a Bangladesh-specific agency source. Fee remains the standard EUR 90 Schengen fee. VFS Global Dhaka / Hungarian Embassy New Delhi (as in the prior DB record) now handles ONLY Hungary's national D-visa categories (Student, Family Reunification, Training) -- Hungary's own VFS one-pager lists exactly these 3 categories and no Tourist/Business/short-stay option at all.
Visa types: Schengen C visa (Tourist, Business, Family/Friends Visit, Cultural/Sports, Medical -- and likely Transit Type A): apply via Embassy of Switzerland, Dhaka (representing Hungary since 15 Aug 2022), NOT VFS Global. National D visa (Student, Worker, EU Blue Card, Family Reunification, Long-term Residence, Researcher): VFS Global Dhaka, Hungarian Embassy New Delhi as competent mission.

Visa types (5)
CORRECTED: Tourist/short-stay Schengen applications for Hungary go to the Embassy of Switzerland in Dhaka, not VFS Global Dhaka -- confirmed via both Hungary's and Switzerland's own official sites, consistent wording, since 15.08.2022.
Same correction as Tourist: Business (short-stay C-visa) applications also route through the Swiss Embassy Dhaka under its Hungary-representation mandate, since the arrangement covers Schengen visas generally, not just tourism.
Schengen Airport Transit Visa (Type A) - required for Bangladeshi passport holders changing planes airside at a Hungary airport en route to a non-Schengen third country.
Hungary National D Student Visa. Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme is SIGNIFICANT for BD students — Bangladesh has dedicated quota (~150-200 scholarships annually) covering tuition + monthly stipend + accommodation contribution.
Hungary work routes: Single Permit (employer-sponsored, standard) or White Card (digital nomad visa for remote workers, since 2022). White Card requires monthly income proof EUR 3,000+ and remote employment with non-Hungarian company.
Common rejection reasons
Common Schengen rejections: (1) Hungary moderately strict on BD applications; (2) Insufficient HUF 1,000/day (~EUR 3) funds proof - low threshold but documents needed; (3) Weak ties to BD; (4) Notarized invitation issues; (5) For Investor Visa (Golden): investment verification; (6) Travel insurance below EUR 30,000.
